Opera House –
Festspielhaus Baden-Baden

Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, one of Europe’s biggest opera houses renowned for presenting the world’s elite in ballet, opera and concerts, approached several agencies to redesign their new online presence. In collaboration with 21TORR, I created these design proposals for a fully responsive site. The straight-forward design easily adapts to all devices, and large experiential images and portraits bring liveliness and spirit into the otherwise simple layout. It has a versatile stage header, spacious artist microsites, and an event calendar with filters for fast access to the complete program.

Porsche

In this project I did the interface and screen design of several stations at the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart. One interactive station is based on the concept of a 1930’s microfiche reader used to access and read archived documents. I was responsible for the design and usability of the application. Overall simplicity was a primary design concept – subtle movement of the screen in all directions drives navigation, and a one button toggle to zoom in and out. Completed in collaboration with jangled nerves/hg merz, Stuttgart.

Fotobuch Social –
Facebook App

Fotobuch Social is a Facebook Photo App that connects your Facebook content with a photo printing service. There are 3 different book types you can choose from: 'story,' a Facebook photo album that includes comments and likes, 'friends,' a book of shared interests with Facebook friends, and 'stream,' a published timeline excerpt featuring all photos, status updates, comments and likes. I was commissioned by Weitclick to develop the concept and to design the entire app, including the 3 different book types. Create your own photobook.

21Torr

21TORR is a full service agency, specialized in the fields of digital branding, mobile solutions and e-business. Working collaboratively with the agency, I wanted to develop a site that is more human and more about storytelling, to give a personal perspective to the who and what of the firm. The website was designed and developed fully responsive for desktop, tablet- and mobile devices. Through a special switch in the topbar of the interface, most parts of the website can be accessed in a fullscreen (magazine) display mode for 'lean back' browsing. Paradies  Photo

Paradies is a photo service owned by the German drug store chain ‘dm’ which offers a wide range of photography products. Weitclick commissioned me for the design of an integrated online game where a photo safari through the jungle highlights selected products. I designed a multi-layered explorative landscape with parallax scrolling, where different animals appear as subjects to be photographed. This journey takes you from the top of the trees down to mangrove water while different camera problems are presented, and have to be solved, with dm products. Try it out.

Mercedes-Benz

In this project I worked on the concept and the design of eight interactive display cases for the Mercedes-Benz stand at the International Motor Show, Frankfurt (IAA). All displays showcase drive-system innovations, explaining current improvements in strength, efficiency, economy, and safety of Mercedes-Benz cars in a tactile and explorative way. Each display consisted of infographics, re-built engine parts, 3-D animation, and interactive elements, in a seamless integration of 2D and 3D elements. The displays set a new industry standard for in-depth exhibits and were a popular attraction for visitors. This project was a collaboration with jangled nerves and Atelier Markgraph.

I am always on the lookout for new inspirations, both in my personal life and online. Instagram documents travels and daily curiosities in my Euro-American milieu. On Pinterest I treasure a selection of the most rare Comme des Garçons SHIRT Ads or some of the best Battle Jackets the European Heavy Metal scene has to offer. Soundcloud catalogues my daily soundtrack.
